Reeling in a pike. A Starbucks Pike that is.

There are two coffee brands I’m incredibly loyal to; Van Houtte, and Starbucks.

Van Houtte not only makes an incredibly delicious cup of coffee, they have been very good to me throughout the years, and their core values of social responsibility line up with what I want my life to stand for.

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that Starbucks also holds a special place in my heart.  Specifically, the Starbucks Pike Place roast is my beverage of choice when I’m on the road, or more importantly, on a date with my daughter.

If you’re new to Good Grief Guru, be sure to check out my article, “Starbucks and sirens: a tribute,” and my Starbucks anniversary video, “Happy 25th anniversary Starbucks (find out how Starbucks fits in with our story.)

Not only has Starbucks played a special role in my grief journey, it also seems to hold a treasured spot in the hearts of a number of my readers.

This week, BlogHer honoured me as their Spotlight blogger.  My readership has gone through the roof as each one of you have shown me a tremendous amount of support.  Thank you.  Imagine how excited I am that at the same time this is all happening, Van Houtte Coffee Services (who I work for during the day,) started selling Starbucks kcup packs!

Needless to say, we know a good thing when we see it.  Perhaps this Pike caught me.  Either way, I’d say that’s a pretty great catch!
